The MDhair filtered shower head has become really popular recently. MDhair also sells other skin and haircare products. I’m curious how it compares with brands like Jolie, Afina, Eskiin & Serei who specialize in filtered shower heads. Anyways, I’ve bought one to review and compare with other luxury filtered shower head options.
Filtration
The MDhair filter is a standard 20 stage filter, the same one that many generic brands use. This is a huge red flag and a non-negotiable for me. The filter is the single more important part of any filtered showerhead (duh) and a 20 stage filter is no good. Having 20 stages means that each stage is incredibly thin, and therefore making each stage very ineffective. It might sound impressive, but it’s not.
I recommend shower filters that have fewer stages to priortize KDF-55, Calcium Sulfite, Activated Carbon & Vitamin C. For more info on these materials and others used in shower filters, visit our filter page.
Price
The MDhair filtered shower head is priced at $99, making it low-range out of the brands I’ve reviewed. The replacement filters are $32 and last for 3 months.
Design
The design of the MDhair is fine, nothing special.

Company Policies
I couldn’t find any information on the MDhair website about returns or warranty. I inquired with them and it turns out only unopened packages can be returned, within 10 days of delivery. Plus there is a $20 restocking fee and the return shipping is the customers responsibility. Red flag!
Final Thoughts
I am not a fan of the MDhair filtered showerhead. The price is less than most of the premium brands, but in my opinion it’s still overpriced.
I expect any premium brand ($99+) to offer better filtration and company policies. Overall i’m disappointed in the MDhair and don’t recommend it.
